Sugar Monster Series

Design Summary

The challenge of this ad series was to bring awareness to the seriousness of the condition, while creating a look and feel that would appeal to demographics of children of most ages to young adults. The concept was to provide a playful, yet menacing look that would keep the viewers engaged in the illustration as well as providing a catchy informative tag line with educational facts regarding the condition. I chose simple color palettes/fonts that were complimentary and would draw people’s attention. The backgrounds were kept as plain as possible with the focus being on the “sugar monster” character and information. A few concepts were created with more background elements, but they were too distracting. As a family member close to those with this diabetes, it is something that is close to my heart. I had a lot of fun creating this series and I hope you enjoy it as well.
